Social Boycott of a 10 year old

Young minds are very malleable. Very impressionable. This blog is based on a true incident that happened ages ago. At a time when I was very young- age 10 to be precise. The formative years which are so important in our lives. This blog is about one student in school who was sinned against for no apparent reason. School days for every one of evoke great memories. It builds in us a nostalgic feeling. A feeling which only someone who has experienced it will be able to understand. A feeling that is different for every individual. I have great memories of my days in school. But I am sure the same is not applicable for atleast one student in our school. Let me call him Raj. Raj was two years senior to me in school. I met him when I joined the school in the 5th standard. Right from the day I joined, I knew that there was something different about Raj. He was silent, low profile, never interacted with others and never seemed to play or have fun while others where having a rollicking time. Aft...

On Doctors having to leave UK

The following is taken from a reader's post on the Times of India website.. "Come on our Indian brothers. You realise now what it means to be free! These people will never rate brown people above their dogs and cats. We browns are acceptable to them as servants only, nothing more. Why go to these countries and slog when we can do things in India. If our rascal politicians would be less corrupt, today, it will be these people who will be derecognized in India. What an irony! Where talent is, the government is corrupt. Where there seems to be a chance racism prevails." Bob Harry Canada

The fine art of selling: Space /Dreams /Products...

The Glib Talker Era Finesse and glib talking has for long been the trade mark of a salesman. To the layman, a great salesman is someone who can talk his way through meetings, sell the product he has and come out with a confirmed sale. This has been the model in existence for quite a long time. Times have changed- the client/customer no longer takes a decision based on how well you present. Your product matters, your after sales service matters, your standing in the industry matters, your realtionship with him matters, you matter- in short everything about you matters! So how do you make yourself (applicable for companies also) matter? how do you better yourself in what you are doing? what factors will help you be a better sales man??? Here is an attempt to analyse the issues! Consistency in service: Consistency in service is an attribute that every customer looks for. Be it an auto mechanic, be it a client service executive, be it a doctor or be it a media executive. When he knows that...

Gandhi and YouTube

Gandhi is definitely the father of the nation. Gandhi is definitely an icon who got India out of the clutches of foreign domination. Gandhi is someone we should emulate. But do we have a right to make a hue and cry about a movie that was made outside India and aired through a medium which has no boundaries? Do we, as a nation have the moral right to make an issue of this? I believe that India and Indians have not given Gandhi the stature he deserves. Gandhi is remembered twice a year- and because we like to have a day off work- thus because of October 2nd (Gandhi Jayanti) and January 30th (his death anniversary), we are forced to remember the Man himself! Ask the kids in school about Gandhi and don’t be really shocked if you get a blank stare or if you are asked back “Who Gandhi?” While there are so many issues where the government is not being proactive, they tend to waken up when it comes to issues on the so called issues of national pride. Has the government created so much noise ov...

1. When Tiger calls a party, never miss the chance 2. Drink till u drop… into the pool and then drink again 3. Never play games while partying – its takes time away from the drinking session 4. Wine and women make a heady concoction. 5. Get drunk to make an ass of yourself (I still would drink!) 6. Irrespective of size, men and women can dance in a drunken trance 7. Involve yourself with someone who is pissed drunk- and be blamed for whatever happened! 8. Forced into the water, everyone learns to swim. 9. Get too close for comfort and men will be men! 10. Get too drunk and women will transform into men (idiots) 11. Standing Instruction at Confident Cascade: “if resort booked by Tiger & Co., Call Mallya, the lord himself!!” 13.
