Nostalgia

Sideward glances , Eyes so beautiful, Lips forming a smile, thou spake a thousand words. Sun rays, shining on you, radiance personified Stopped enroute, me soaking in your presence Three years, heady days of love Archies, love written in B&W Canteen, waiting for love eternity Nights, synonymous with nostalgia, Flew past so that I could see her once more..

Weight loss.. Again

It was nearing that time of the year and something in me woke up. It wasn't really the need to make any new year resolutions. I;ve had my share of resolutions, all of which lasted not more than a week. So much to resolutions.. but then i'm sure that most people who take resolutions do not really plan to stick to it. I found out 6 months back that you really do not need an occasion to start something. One fine evening, i told myself im gonna quit smoking. Do not ask me why id decided, 'cos i myself do nto know till now.. Well, i had a few ciggiges at around 10.00pm and called it QUITS. To top it, i blared it out to the world that i QUIT SMOKING. Some 30 comments later, most people egging me on, some doubting Thomases who just couldn't digest the fact that i had the will power to do it, i came out the winner. I had finally called it QUITS. 6 months down the line, many parties later, i still haven't touched a ciggy! Somewhere during the end of 2011, i came to the concl...

Back after a couple of years

Well well, very sad to see that i haven't penned a blog for a couple of years. One possible reason i can think of is the overbearing presence of Facebook. I have been hooked onto facebook and my timeline has literally become my Blog.. My various rants, ravings and my very random reflections have all been on facebook. Why on Facebook? Possibly because its easier to be at the receiving end of bouquets and brickbats. People respond instantly. People 'Like' your posts. You feel that you are talking to the world and that the world is taking notice of you. Which has never happened on the blog. So here i am, shunning the instant feedback facebook and set to continue my Random ramblings and Reflections in my own private space. Well, on second thoughts, i might use facebook to popularise my the blog better.. :)

Doctors Stir: Lives lost aplenty

Gone are the days when Doctors were treated as Gods.. gone are days when the doctors practising medicine considered their profession with dignity. This is with reference to the ongoing strike by medicos of Rajastan, who are striking work on some injustice meeted out to them. I have no problem with them striking.. What i have a problem is that the patients admitted in these government medical colleges are left to die. Nurses, who are nothing but support staff are now taking care of the patients. As per the latest reports, 50 people have died so far due to this strike. Shame on you for having forgotten the Hippocrates oath you took.. Even if you want to strike fr you needs, isnt there any other form of showing your prostest than to not treat patients? Cant the doctors do a chain hunger strike or something? atleast the patients admitted wont be left to die.. Also, the critical part in this is that all the patients who get admitted in Government medical colleges are wellbelow the povery li...

• An ordinary man from kannadi, • Struggled as everyone in the initial phase of life • Slogged and made a great career, • Sweat it out in the deserts of the middle east • Who had a bunch of friends who would die for him, • Who had a wife and 2 kids who adored him • A wonderful son in law, daughter in law, and a grand daughter • Who had a huge extended family who loved him– KV & VK families • Was someone who lived life Kingsize, • Was someone at who’s home, everyone felt at home • Who helped God knows how many people in distress! • Who ensured people around him also had a good life • Was a friend, philosopher & guide to many • A mentor to many.. Guess there is no chance of a debate on whether his was a Full Life. “Alla Pinne”! Babu Chetta.. it wasn’t time for you to leave us! We so wish you could have cheated death!!

The Divali Pledge

Standing in the balcony, watching the Bangalore skyline awash with fireworks, it struck me that we are spending too much money on celebrating Deepavali/Divali. Deepavali, the festival of lights has led to us literally burning crazy monies on fireworks which for all practical purposes does more harm than good to anyone(think of the environment!). How much of pleasure we get from seeing a firework is something we need to introspect. Though we all make a hue and cry about the need for governments to start austerity drives, we as individuals do nothing! Typical armchair middle class The thought of literally converting money to smoke and fire rattled and bothered me. While we have enough money to party and buy fireworks, there is another set of Indians who have to work their ass off to earn 2 square meals a day.. forget 3! I kept imaging how many mouths could have been fed with the money we blew up. We and me are not really bothered about the poorer lot.. this is the fact. Diwali can actua...
